  • Local council does not always work and instead, its activity is limited for a certain period stipulated by law.
  • Therefore, to exercise the unique authority of the council, the chairperson calls for convocation at a specified place, which is so called assembly. Assembly of local council consists of regular and irregular meeting.
Regular meeting
  • The 1st regular meeting is held on July 3rd; in the year when the general election is scheduled, it is postponed to September or any other time, upon the resolution of the council
  • The 2nd regular meeting is called on November 22nd.
  • The meeting is called simply by the notification with no specific call.

    Activities
    Auditing administrative authorities by standing committees
    Each standing committee shall preliminarily review budget and settlement while the special committee of budget   settlement examine it generally.
    Other agenda such as ordinance draft are processed.

Irregular meeting
  • The meeting is convoked upon the request of a governor of local government or one third and more of the registered members and then, the chairperson should convoke the meeting.
  • In case of the above request, the chairperson should notify it at least 5 days before the scheduled date of meeting.
    • Period : 45 days per year (one session may not be longer than 15 days)

      Asking the related executive organs to explain current municipal agenda and review agenda such as ordinances
